A Beloved Burger Chain Heads to East Vancouver
Big news for burger fans in Vancouver, WA: In-N-Out Burger Vancouver WA appears to be one step closer to opening a new location at the corner of Mill Plain Boulevard and SE 136th Avenue. Locals have spotted a sign recently installed next to the closed Rite Aid building at that intersection, signaling the popular California-based chain’s plans to expand into East Vancouver.
Site Details & Location
The proposed site sits on a busy commercial corridor surrounded by retail, restaurants, and growing residential neighborhoods. The former Rite Aid building occupies a sizable lot that’s well-positioned for a high-traffic drive-thru operation—ideal for In-N-Out’s famously efficient service.
While official plans and timelines have not yet been released by In-N-Out Burger or the City of Vancouver, the presence of signage at the site has fueled local excitement and speculation about when the project might break ground.
A Growing Presence in the Pacific Northwest
In-N-Out has been gradually expanding northward, with existing Washington locations in Ridgefield and plans for others throughout the region. The brand’s simple menu and cult following are sure to draw crowds once doors open in Vancouver. Fans are already eager to get their hands on signature items like:
- Double-Double® — a classic double cheeseburger
- Animal Style fries with grilled onions and special sauce
- Freshly hand-cut fries
- Hand-spun milkshakes
Community Buzz
Locals on social media have shared photos of the new sign and voiced both excitement and concerns about potential traffic impacts in the area. The Mill Plain corridor is one of Vancouver’s busiest east–west routes, and a popular restaurant like In-N-Out could bring significant additional volume.
Still, most residents are welcoming the news, happy to see another big name join Vancouver’s ever-growing dining scene.
